Welcome to SATYA YOGA CENTER, located in our quaint, beautiful, lakeside town of Saugatuck, Michigan. Our intention in creating this sacred space was to invite the community, and all of our wonderful visitors, to join together and partake in classes and events to help better ourselves ~ our community ~ as well as reach out into the world, "taking yoga off our mat", and serving where we can! Namaste ~ Peace ~ Blessings "...Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." -Robert Frost Rumor has it that we are closing in the near future. Well, seems as though the universe had something greater in store for us than we could have ever anticipated. You have spoken - we listened - and we promise to go on! We are excited to announce that we will continue to teach at our Center for now, however, we do plan on a relocation sometime soon. We promise to keep you posted. Please continue to practice with us as we take this journey together! HELP US HELP OTHERS IN OUR VERY OWN BACK YARD! SATYA YOGA CENTER IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE WE ARE DOUBLING OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS DURING THE MONTH OF THANKFUL-GIVING! (From Michele Adrianse, Founder of Satya Yoga, "We, as a community, have to stop looking the other way. It's time for us to see the weakness or needs of others, lend them a hand or kind word, and help them onto their own two feet. Wouldn't you hope for the same? I would.") Please Join Us & Contribute Throughout November: FOOD DRIVE: **It is with pleading urgency that I ask for your help in donating non-parishable goods in time for Thanksgiving!** Our box is only HALF WAY FULL! We can give, my friends! Reach deep, and give from your heart to those less fortunate. How would it feel to be alone & hungry on day when we are all blessed with family, friends and an abundance of FOOD! All items will be distributed to the Center for Women in Transition, and the Holland Rescue Mission on Monday, November 24th. FUNDRAISER FOR CRASH'S LANDING (a non-profit/no-kill Cat Rescue): Special THANKS to Heather and Crash's Landing for hosting a fabulous fundraiser to benefit this no-kill shelter right in our back yard! We raised over $1,700 - and will continue collecting funds through November. Also - fill out a $1 raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing to win the Angel of Animals!
KIRTAN with Meera Saturday, December 6th at 7pm
(in Sanskrit, Kirtan tanslates to "Repeat* ~ Chant Song & Respond) Kirtan is the practice of chanting the Divine Names of God. It helps to focus the mind, create a peaceful environment, and opens the heart chakra. Meera will be taking an ecumenical approach by offering chants from various traditions, mostly in a call and response manner. In addition, Meera will be singing a few original bhajans, or devotional songs, from her upcoming album, Lotus of Lotus. In these darkening days of winter, an evening of kirtan can really light you up! Please join us ~ it's a wonderful experience!

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Anais Nin (1903 - 1977) LET'S "CHOOSE" TO BE HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER! A Jungian analyst commented "You think that the way you are now is the way you have to be. That isn't true. You can change all of it. You can change your relationships. You can change the way that you do things. You can change the way you feel."
It's called choice. And it's all yours. There is nothing more radical than the moment you realize that IT IS possible to reinvent your life. We're not talking about trading in your faded blue jeans and sweatshirts for robes and mala beads - or even leaving a regular job to join the Peace Corps. We're suggesting CHANGING YOUR MIND - reconfiguring your mental and emotional attitudes, shifting your vision of life—the kind of inner shift that turns a pessimist into someone capable of seeing the perfection in everything, or that allows an angry or frightened person to learn how to channel that energy into something creative. We need to understand that giving ourselves a DAILY sense of 'self-permission' to take care of ourselves will make us happier, more peaceful, more in touch with the love and wisdom at our core, the very essence of who we are, and who we are meant to be.
